Parabases-Readings
Visual identity for the series of theatrical readings "Parabases-Readings" (Παραβάσεις-Αναγνώσεις) at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Athens.
Protagonists of Greek theater, in collaboration with young stage directors, composers and musicians, performed live theatrical readings of literary texts — short stories, novels, prose — all milestones of Greek literature.
The challenge set in the designing of the campaign was to create an identity that visually references the simplicity of XX century Greek book design, while at the same time reflecting the character of each text through different styles of illustration.
Every illustration aims to recreate the atmosphere of the story, the particularities of the language, the details, the feelings and sensations that emerge from the words.
The series includes: "Viral Pneumonia" by Zisimos Lorentzatos; "Conan the God and His Monastery, the So-Called Submergence” and "Hosanna!" by PhotisKontoglou; "The Detective" by Dimitris Hatzis; "Erotokritos" by Vitsentzos Kornaros; "Moonstruck" by Alexandros Papadiamantis; "Architecture of a Dissolute Life" by Nikos Gabriel Pentzikis; "Moskov-Selim" by Georgios Vizyinos.
